Fibra Sensible, is one step to change the world!

The Sensitive Fiber is a workshop of handcrafted looms located in the Alpujarra of Granada, an exceptional tourist destination and a referent for textile handcraft. This workshop is managed by Mercedes Pino López, licensed in Fine Arts and trained in the management of looms of different types. We are characterized by a great love for crafts coupled with a high level of education. We combine ancestral techniques with an innovative spirit in the design of the textile pattern. We have a modern Canadian loom with 16 frames (instead of 4 as in the rest of the looms) that makes a great variety of prints in its beautiful and sophisticated fabrics. In addition to its traditional looms and knitting machines.

On a planet where the textile industry is the second cause of pollution after oil, wearing sustainable fashion is an act of resistance, against servility and human passivity. It is a way to encourage local and decent employment and also to perpetuate the ancestral arts and crafts knowledge of our land.

This atelier combines the fibers of nobler and more natural origin, such as hemp, linen, silk, virgin wool, mohair, cashmere ... With designs inspired by the Al-Ándalus era and other current ones. We also offer workshops and group demonstrations of transformation of natural fibers from the washing of the wool, through the carded, spinning and natural dyes. To create a greater link with living fibers and introduce the visitor to the wonderful world of threads.
